Why We Built This Site
New Mexico gives the public broad access to many court and government records through the Inspection of Public Records Act and court access rules. The hard part in Sierra County is figuring out which office holds the file you want. The District Court Clerk handles felony, divorce, family, civil-over-$10,000, protection-order, name-change, and foreclosure case records. The County Clerk maintains recording, marriage, probate index, ordinance, resolution, election, and business-license records. The County Probate Court handles informal uncontested probate, while contested probate goes to District Court. We pull together the contact details, search portals, fee schedules, and request steps for each of these offices into one place.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
